Saving Energy - Important In India As Well

I am not a U.S citizen but I consider myself an environmentally concerned citizen. I am always concerned if my parents or my sister is conserving water and energy at home.
I always have ensured that they do not waste water unnecessarily and we also have discussed many a times how to conserve water so it makes all of us happier and creates a better environment.
At my work place, there are about 3500 plus employees. Whenever I go out of my work cabin to the cafeteria or lunch point, there is some house keeping employees who washes the vessels, cups etc, while the tap is turned on and the water was pouring continuously.
Several times, I have advised those employees to conserve water and make sure they fill the water in the container and then to wash. That way they can conserve water and make the environment pleasant.
Also, there are many employees who rush to leave office leaving their computer monitor on. May be, they are not much concerned about it, or have a feeling that it is not their responsibility. But, it is very important for everyone to understand that saving energy should be everyone’s duty.
There are people who save the energy and water only for the costs or savings purpose. In my opinion this is wrong, because the most important consideration should always be our environment.
It is not only very important from an individuals point of view, or an organizations point of view, or from a family’s point of view, all developed and developing nations must be concerned about saving energy and water in order to make the world a better place to live.
